2 Kings 7:1-20


I. THEIR DELIGHT - vs. 8 
1. They Delighted In Their Refreshment 
"…and did eat and drink,..."
" Refreshment is found in Christ.
" Ps. 34:8 * Isa. 55:1, etc.. 

2. They Delighted In Their Riches 
"…and carried thence silver, and gold,…"
" Riches are found in Christ.
" Rev. 2:9 * 2 Cor. 8:9 * Eph. 3:8, etc. 

3. They Delighted In Their Raiment 
"…and raiment,…"
" New raiment is found in Christ.
" Isa. 64:6 * Zech. 3:3-4, etc. 


II - THEIR DILEMMA - vs. 9 
1. Their Realization 
"…We do not well: …"
" We see here their "new born" conscience!
" Jas. 4:17 

2. Their Reasoning 
"…this day is a day of good tidings,…"
" They knew it was not right to keep "good news" to themselves.
" Pro. 25:25
" They also feared punishment if they did not do right.
" Pro. 1:7, etc.. 

3. Their Resolve 
"… now therefore come, that we may go and tell …"
" They determined to do what was right.
" "Go and Tell" is the theme of Missions!
" Matt. 28:19, etc. 


III - THEIR DECISION - vs. 10 
1. It Involved Courage 
" Their move involved a bit of courage for several reasons.
" Witnessing, Preaching, Missions, also involve "courage".
" Jer. 1:8 

2. It Involved Compassion 
" Even though the lepers were outcast and mostly forgotten by society … 
" They overcame evil with good.
" Rom. 12:21, etc.. 

3. It Involved Conversions 
" The city was "saved" from certain death.
" Except the "unbeliever" that watched the city gate.
" 1 Cor. 9:22, etc.
