WALKING IN THE SPIRIT
Galatians 5:16


What does it mean to "Walk in the Spirit"? 


I. WALKING IN THE SPIRIT INVOLVES AN INDWELLING 
"If we live in the Spirit…" Gal. 5:25
There is no spiritual life without life in the Spirit.
The Spirit dwells in us and us in him, ONLY at Salvation
Romans 8:9; 1 John 4:13


II. WALKING IN THE SPIRIT INVOLVES A FOLLOWING 
"But if ye be led of the Spirit…" Gal. 5:18
There is no walking IN the Spirit if we are not walking WITH the Spirit.
As the Spirit leads … we are to follow in complete obedience.

III. WALKING IN THE SPIRIT INVOLVES A FORSAKING 
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest …" Gal. 5:19
There is no walking in the SPIRIT while doing the works of the flesh.
There is no doing the works of the flesh while walking in the Spirit.
Have you heard: "Sin Will Keep You From This Book, This Book Will Keep You From Sin"?

IV. WALKING IN THE SPIRIT INVOLVES A FLOURISHING 
"But the fruit of the Spirit is …" Gal. 5:22
One who has the Spirit dwelling in them, follows through obedience, and forsakes the works of the flesh … will flourish, and be fruitful.
