VEXED!
2 Peter 2:1-9


-There are many wicked things in this world for the Christian to encounter
-It may be something that is seen or heard and something that we have no control over
-There are, however, many things that we DO have control over that we do NOT have to see or hear
-Like the man who said his arm hurt when he moved it a certain way, the wise advice from the doctor was to simply NOT to move that way!
-Lot was a just man whose soul was troubled because of the evil around him in Sodom


THE PROBLEMS THAT CAUSED LOT TO BE VEXED


I - LIVING {vs 8; Gen 13:9-13} 
-Lot knew of the wickedness of Sodom, but chose to pitch his tent in that direction anyway simply for wealth
-Many will pull their families out of a good church into a wicked situation simply for a few more dollars
-These families ultimately suffer for those decisions
-You must master money or it will master you


II - LOOKING {vs 8} 
-Lot, despite the wickedness around him, could have moved out of Sodom, but chose to stay there
-Many wicked things we see are beyond our control
-However, many more things we can control such as turning back for a second look or a delayed look, what we watch on TV, etc


III - LISTENING {vs 8} 
-We should be careful what we listen to
-Don't listen to music that's bad, gossip, filthy language, etc
-Not all secular music is bad; Not all "Christian" music is good
-We should guard the ears of our children
