Lamentations 2:14
I. THE PREACHER IS RESPONSIBLE TO PREACH THE TRUTH!
"...but have seen for thee false burdens..."
Jer. 23:14-17; Jer. 23:31-32; Isa. 9:15-16; Jer. 5:31 "...my people love to have it so..."
II. THE PREACHER IS RESPONSIBLE TO PREACH SOMETHING OF VALUE!
"...have seen vain and foolish things..."
*vain = not giving the desired outcome; lacking substance, or worth
*foolish = lacking good sense, due to stupidity or misinformation
-Much of today's preaching is vain & foolish.
-Much of today's preaching is feel good, or political, or social, or just weak & watered down.
III. THE PREACHER IS RESPONSIBLE TO CONFRONT & EXPOSE SIN!
"...not discovered thy iniquity..."
Isa. 56:9-12; Isa. 58:1; Jer. 1:4-10; Jer. 1:17-19; Jer. 23:22; Ezk. 2:3-8; Ezk. 13:22
IV. THE PREACHER IS RESPONSIBLE TO LEAD PEOPLE AWAY FROM TROUBLE!
"...to turn away thy captivity..."
-Confronting & exposing sin can free you people from trouble, even keep them from it!
-Jonah lead Nineveh away from trouble with his preaching.
