SIX SIGNING-OFF, SENTENCE SERMONS
Galatians 6:1-10
The Apostle Paul closes his letter to the Galatian Christians with some "short sermons".
I - SALVAGE {vs 1}
-"....restore such an one in the spirit of meekness...."
-It is our job to restore those who are "rusting" away spiritually
-"...considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted."
-It may be you one day who is "rusting" away and who is in need of restoration!
II - SUPPORT {vs 2}
-"Bear ye one another's burdens...."
-The church should be it's own support group
-Support should be found at the church when there are burdens
III - SHOULDER our own responsibility {vv 4-5}
-"Let every man prove his own worth....for every man shall bear his own burden."
-We should "help others to help themselves"
-There is great satisfaction in doing something yourself
-If you are struggling in your burden, it is scriptural for one to HELP you, not for one to completely take your burden on their shoulders
IV - SHARE {vs 6; 1 Cor 9:11}
-"Let him that is taught....communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things."
-Communicate also means to SHARE or to SPREAD AROUND
-Those who are taught {CONGREGATION} should communicate {SHARE} in all good things to him that teaches {PREACHER}
-The one who communicates spiritual things to the congregation should expect to receive carnal, or material, things in return
V - SOW {vv 7-8}
-"....whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."
-If you sow to the flesh, live a life of sin, you can expect to reap corruption
-You can't reap spiritual things sowing to the flesh
-The seed will eventually surface for those that continue to live in sin rejecting God
VI - SERVING {vv 9-10}
-"And let us not be weary in well doing...."
-If you continue to faithfully serve the Lord, he will reward you in due season
-How or when He blesses will not be in our time, but in His
-"....let us do good unto all men, especially to those who are of the household of faith."
-We should do good and be a blessing to everyone, but priority should be given to the brother and sister in Christ
