FOUR AREAS WHEREIN PETER FAILED
Matthew 26:31-42


1 - PRESUMPTION {vs 33} 
"...never be offended..." 
-Peter was arrogant showing disregard for what the Lord said 
-Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. {1 Cor 10:12} 
-We look down on others not realizing that it could be us in the same position 
-Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour


2 - PRAYERLESSNESS {vs 40} 
"...could ye not pray one hour?" 
-We will accomplish nothing without prayer


3 - POSITION {vv 57-58} 
-"...followed him afar off..." 
-Peter was not close to the Lord 
-He had not stayed by his side 
-We'll not end up in grievous sin if we stay close to Him in study and prayer


4 - PEOPLE {vv 57-58; Luke 22:54-55} 
-"...sat down among them..." 
-Peter was in with the wrong crowd instead of with his brothers in Christ
