1) LOVE NOT THE WORLD

It is not our home
-It is not our future
- We are pilgrims here / we are aliens here
-We long for a better place
-We are not to get attached to this world and forget the next!

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; (Tit 2:12-13)
And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. (1Jn 5:19)
Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. (Heb 13:13-14)
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (Joh 14:2)
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (2Co 5:1)
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (Joh 17:14)

-Not only are we not to love this world, but we are not to love the things in the world.
-Lust & Pride make up this world!
-Lust of flesh takes in everything from drugs to all manner of fornication
- Lust of the eyes takes in all manner of covetousness & greed
-Pride takes in everything from self promotion to self love
-This is what fills the world – no wonder we are commanded not to love the world OR the things in the world!
-This is not from God!
SEE Titus 2:12 & 1Jn. 5:19

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (Jas 4:4)
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Eph 2:2)
