THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH
Hebrews 10:38


I. THE DEFINITION OF FAITH 
Belief that DOES NOT rest on logical proof or material evidence. (example - tithe) 
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) 

Substance = foundation 
Evidence = persuasion


II. EXAMPLES OF FAITH 
Noah - built ark 
Moses - walked out on wealth & power 
Abraham - left Ur; offered his son 
Joshua - marched around Jericho 
Gideon - fought 135,000 with 300 
David - faced Goliath with a stone 
Daniel - prayed 
The four - lowered their lame friend to Jesus


III. BARRIERS TO FAITH 
Sacrifice - we might loose out. (Abraham or Moses) 
Reason - it seems unreasonable. (Gideon or Noah or Joshua) 
Fear - going against the crowd. (Daniel or 3 Hebrew boys) 
Suffering - we may suffer. (Daniel or 3 Hebrew boys)


IV. HOW TO INCREASE OUR FAITH 
The Word of God - Romans 10:17 
Remember the past - 1 Sam. 17:31-37 
Ask - John 16:24; James 1:5-7
