JUDGE NOT!
Matthew 7:1-5, 15-20


This passage deals with HYPOCRITES who pass judgment on others, 
when they themselves have sin in their lives that should be dealt with. 


I - The MOTIVE for judgment {vv 1-2} 
Don't gossip or be critical of others. We will be judged in the same manner as we pass judgment 
Maybe our mouths should be shut {Prov 11:13}
Are you TRULY grieved over one's sin, or do you wish to simply lift yourself up by condemning others?


II - The STANDARDS for judgment {vv 3-5}....
We should see clearly before helping another with their problems 
Get the "BEAM" out of your eye before getting a "MOTE" out of another's eye


At least 3 times when Christians ARE to judge {vv 15-20}... 
1 - Judge false teachers
2 - Judge sin in the local church {1 Cor 5}
3 - Judge disagreements between Christians {1 Cor 6:1-8}
