Proverbs 16:27-28


There is a difficulty in controlling the tongue {James 3:1-12}

There is ALWAYS a way to escape temptation {1 Cor 10:13}

Gossip sows strife {vs 28 * 2 Thes 3:11 * 1 Tim 5:13} 

Is it gossip? Consider these questions...

I. How do I know it is true? {Deut 13:12-14 * 17:1-5 * Prov 12:17-22 * Eph 4:25}

II. Do I have to violate a confidence to tell it? {Prov 11:13 * Rom 1:28-32}

III. What good will it be for the listener? {Prov 18:8 * 20:19 * 26:22-23 * Eph 4:29}

IV. Am I the one who should be carrying this information? {1 Pet 4:15}

V. What are my motives for telling? {Prov 12:18 * Eph 4:15}
