GLORIFY THE WORD OF GOD
2 Thessalonians 3:1


-There are many prayer requests in the Bible

-The first part of this one is that God's Word would have free course to do a work in the hearts and minds
-The devil will do all that he is able to hinder the preaching of the Word of God

-The second part is that God's Word would be glorified


Ways To Glorify & Magnify The Word Of God


I - By our REVERENCE for it {Psa 56:4, 10; 138:2}
-God placed His Word above His name
-We show reverence by STANDING for His Word
-We show respect when we physically stand for the reading of His Word
-We can take a stand for God's Word in our conversations by defending it
-We show reverence by STUDYING His Word
-We give it preference
-We show reverence by LIVING His Word {Luke 4:4}
-We hinder God's Word when we don't live as His Word commands


II - By our RELIANCE upon it {Acts 13:48; 1 Thess 2:13}
-We rely on the ACCURACY of His Word
-We rely on it to ADMONISH & INSTRUCT
-We rely on its ABILITY to do what we are not able to


III - By our RECEPTION of it {Acts 17:11}
-People whose hearts and minds are set against God's Word will never be able to receive it


IV - By our RESPONSE to it {James 1:22}
The Bible causes us to:
-REMEMBER what we may have forgotten
-REVIEW our lives
-REMORSE - to see ourselves as God does
-REJOICE
-REVAMP
-Be REDIRECTED
-Be REVIVED
-REPENT - to change our minds
-Be RECHARGED
