HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?
Isaiah 5:1-7

Why does God expect a good vineyard?

I - Because of the QUALITY of the plants {vs 2}
Before we were saved we were dried up and withered plants incapable of bring forth any fruit
At salvation God made us new! {John 15; 2 Cor. 5:17; 1 Pet 2:9-10}

II - Because of the SITUATION of the plants {vs 1}
God planted in a good spot
We live in a nation full of abundance and privilege
We have freedoms like no other nation to worship, and preach the gospel
We have prosperity like no other nation

III - Because of the CARE he gives to the plants {vs 2}
A garden is fenced in to keep the predators out
God protects us from the flesh, the world, and Satan
We have His Word to fight back with
He gathers the stones out
Obstacles rise up in our lives as stones in the ground
God helps us with those obstacles
He puts a tower in the midst of His garden
God is with us all the time keeping watch over us

IV - God expects fruit at the RIGHT TIME! {Psa. 1:1-3}
In times of prosperity God expects the fruit of GRATITUDE
In times of affliction God expects the fruit of PATIENCE & TRUST
In times of sickness God expects the fruit of PRAYER
In times of worship God expects the fruit of ATTENDANCE
In times of opposition God expects the fruit of STEADFASTNESS
In times of trial God expects the fruit of FAITHFULNESS & VICTORY
In times of need God expects the fruit of PRAYER
In times of confusion God expects the fruit of BIBLE STUDY
In times of temptation God expects the fruit of FLEEING FEET
In times of opportunity God expects the fruit of WITNESSING

V - God expects fruit with good QUALITY

VI - God expects fruit with good QUANTITY {Matt 25:14-28; John 12:24, 15:5, 8; Heb 6:1}

VII - God expects fruit with strong ENDURANCE

VIII - God has blessed us so much, what MORE can He do so that we might be productive? {vv 2, 4}

IX - God may take away those blessings because we can be unproductive WITHOUT God! {vv 5-6}
