I. SIN STARTS - 
" . . . canst not look on iniquity . . ." {vs. 13} 
(Embracing sin invites the chastisement) {Psalms 5:4}


II. SAVIOR STOPS - 
" . . . wilt not hear . . . wilt not save . . . " {vs. 2} 
(The Savior stops hearing & helping) {Psalms 66:18}


III. SOVEREIGN SOURCE - 
"For, lo, I raise up . . . thou hast ordained them . . ." {vs. 6, 12} 
(The source of punishment is God) {Hebrews 12:6-7}


IV. SCOURGETH SONS - 
". . . why holdest thy tongue . . ." {vs. 13} 
(God, for the most part, deals with HIS people) {Heb. 12:6-8}
(son or sons used 5 x's in chastisement passage) 


V. STOPS SHORT - 
". . . we shall not die . . ." {vs. 12} 
(God is not trying to kill us. Just get our attention) {Hebrews 12:11; John 10:10}


VI. SPIRITUAL SPANKINGS -
