COME TO THE DOOR
Leveticus 8
The door of the tabernacle has significance; it is mentioned nearly 60 times
There is another door {John 10:1-11}
Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven {John 14:6}
Here are some comparisons to what happened to Aaron and his sons when they came to the door of the tabernacle and when one comes to the door, Jesus Christ
I. They were WASHED {vs 6}
This washing is for SALVATION {Rev. 1:5}
Christians still need to be cleansed and we get that washing from Jesus Christ {John 13:1-10}
II. They were CLOTHED {vs 13}
Clothing is for God's SATISFACTION
Clothing represents righteousness which we are clothed in upon salvation
The righteousness of every believer is given by the Lord Jesus Christ {Phil 1:11, 3:9; Titus 3:5; 1 Pet 1:1}
III. They were GIRDED {vs 13 * Luke 12:35-37}
When one is girded, they are being prepared for SERVICE
When we come to Christ, he girds us for service by making adjustments and removing things from our lives that may hinder our service
We are girded in righteousness, faithfulness, and truth
IV. They were MARKED with blood {vv 23-24}
This was for SANCTIFICATION
These men were being set apart and identified with blood for the Master's use {2 Tim. 2:21}
We are no longer associated with the things of the world {Eph 2:10}
V. They were ANOINTED with oil {vs 30}
This is SYMBOLIC of the Holy Spirit
Nothing can be accomplished for Christ in the flesh
We're told to walk in the Spirit {Acts 2:41; Gal 5:16}
