ALL DOWN HILL FROM HERE
Judges 1 & 2


I. HOW IT STARTED 
- With a people that STOOD before the Lord - {Joshua 24:1}
- With a people that SERVED the Lord - {Judges 2:7}
- With a people that STARTED out with great victories - {Judges 1:8}
- With a people that SAW the Lord work in a mighty way - {Judges 2:7}
- With a people that SLIPPED slowly away - {Judges 1:19, 21}


II. HOW IT CONTINUED 
- With a FAILURE to obey {2:2}
- This failure to obey can be seen in three arenas 
- Lack of Faith {1:19} (iron chariots, not wood like they beat in Joshua 11)
- Life of Rebellion {1:21, 27, 29, 30, 31, 33}
- Love of Money {1:28}
- This failure was made worse in the face of: 
- A God that BROUGHT them out of Egypt {2:1}
- A God that BROUGHT them into the Promised Land {2:1}
- A God that BROKE not his covenant with them - {2:1}

- With a FAMINE of the works of God {2:10} 
- When we fail to obey we will be DRY on the great works of God
- When we fail to obey we will be DEPRIVING the next generation of the chance to "see the great works of the Lord."
- When we fail to obey we will be DRIVING our children away from God so that they will ".know not the Lord."

- With a FORSAKING of the Lord {2:12} 
- They were FOLLOWING false gods {2:12}
- They were FAITHFUL to false gods {2:11}
- They were FALLING down to false gods {2:12}
- They were FUELING the anger of the true God {2:14, 15}


III - HOW IT FINISHED 
- God SOLD them {2:14}
- God SPOILED them {2:14} 
- God SWORE to greatly distress them {2:15}
